I remember the days when I used to work in night shifts and the schedule was upside down like anything.Rest of the world was all getting ready for sleep and I was about to start my shift.

It all went well and I was able to adapt to night shifts but one thing that suffered was my workout.
I was not able to give enough time to my workout but to everything else.

I was not used to workout in the afternoon because all of us usually prefer morning workouts so initially going to the gym during noon was not that usual.

Soon I realized that this is not gonna work this way because I was loosing focus from the workout.

I made sure that I should tailor my schedule in such a way so that I can also add time to workout.

I cut down my sleep time and invested that in the workout and This Is How You Get Motivated For Workout When You Are In Night Shifts

In 2 weeks I was used to this noon workout and moreover, it would not matter to me if my shift timings got changed every month.

I was happy that I am able to control the surroundings rather than getting controlled by them.
It depends upon an individual if he/she works out before work or right after they come from work but believe it is a bit difficult to work out right after the shift when you are working in night shifts.

You might also like to workout during work.

With family responsibilities and all the activities of work, it is difficult for all of us to find time to workout before night shift.

So instead of surfing the internet and gossiping with friends near the water tank, we can spend that time on exercise.

It does not mean that you have to get to the office gym and lift those heavy weights.

You can go for a walk around the facility or perform the weight-bearing exercise like push-ups.


Doing exercise after work for the people in night shifts is also an option and depends if their body can take that.

Initially, my shift used to end at around 6 am or 7 am and I used to go to the gym.

I believe at that time working out right after the shift helped me ease more stress from my body but that did not last for very long and I had to shift my workout to an afternoon.

An individual can decide the BEST TIME to workout and it depends upon the preference.

You can try working out before, after or during work and spend a week in these three different timings and then continue with the schedule that suits you and your body.

It would be good if you treat workout as an important assignment that cannot be missed.
